Potential 2016 Republican Presidential Candidate

U.S. Senator from Florida

Marco Antonio Rubio
Born: May 28th, 1971  (age 43)

The young and charismatic Florida Senator is poised to become either one of these three things for the Republican Party come 2016: the presidential candidate, the vice presidential candidate or the kingmaker. If these predictions sound a little too far-fetched, consider the cards he is holding on to currently; the tea party endorsement, the Hispanic appeal and his youthfulness. Theoretically, these three cards could very easily win him the Republican nomination in 2016. And this is even before we consider the selection of the Catholic Rubio, who as a child was baptized a Mormon, to deliver the party’s response to President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address in February 2013, which all but indicates the party leadership’s willingness to cast their considerably weight behind his candidacy.

Senator Rubio’s challenge over the next four years is to maintain his momentum, refine his message, and avoid any major gaffes. Do that, and everything else will fall into place for the man Time magazine dubbed as the savior of the Republican Party.
